Carbonized rice husk as an alternative substrate for Ocimum basilicum L. seedling production

چکیده
The substrate used in seedling production plays a major role the initial plant development. In this sense, objective was to evaluate emergence capacity and establishment of basil seedlings different proportions alternative substrates based on charred rice husk commercial S10®. experiment carried out expanded polyethylene trays, using seeds (Horticeres seeds®), which lasted 28 days. experimental design completely randomized, with five treatments (T1: 100 % (BCS); T2: 80 BCS + 20 Charred (CRH); T3: 60 40 CRH; T4: T5: CRH) three repetitions. Were evaluated leaf number, shoot length, root dry mass, area, germination, germination speed index, physical analysis (density (dry wet)), total porosity aeration space, chemical (hydrogen potential (PH), electrical conductivity (EC)). It observed results that type interferes development quality seedling. lenght parameter, treatment CRH (T4) had significant difference compared other treatments. Among substrates, best performance (T2), provided better relation

Hepatoprotective triterpenes from hairy root cultures of Ocimum basilicum L.
Six triterpene acids identified as betulinic, oleanolic, ursolic, 3-epimaslinic, alphitolic and euscaphic acids have been isolated from a dichloromethane extract of hairy root cultures of Ocimum basilicum L. (Lamiaceae). These cultures were obtained by genetic transformation using Agrobacterium rhizogenes. The extract as well as the isolated compounds were evaluated for their hepatoprotective a...
متن کاملChicoric acid found in basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) leaves
This is the first report to identify the presence of chicoric acid (cichoric acid; also known as dicaffeoyltartaric acid, which is a caffeic acid derivatizedwith tartaric acid) in basil leaves. Rosmarinic acid, chicoric acid and caftaric acid (in the order of most abundant to least; all derivatives of caffeic acid) were identified in fresh basil leaves. Rosmarinic acid was themain phenolic comp...
متن کاملUtilization of Rice Hull as a New Substrate for Turf Grass Seed Germination in Sod Production as a Sustainable Approach
Sod culture is one of the important methods in establishing and repairing of turf grass, especially in sport fields. Nowadays, a mixture of sand and peat are commonly used in sod production in Iran. Because peat media is expensive, it seems necessary to find an alternative medium. Rice hull, tea waste and leaf compost as economical organic material that are available in huge loads in north of I...
متن کاملMicroalgae biomass as an alternative substrate in biogas production
The running down of fossil energy sources makes the production of bioenergy an expected need worldwide. Therefore, energy crops have gained increasing attention in recent years as a source for the production of bioenergy because they do not compete with food crops. Microalgae have numerous advantages such as fast growth rates and not competing with food production. Because of the fast growth, m...
